* lib: Revise blocking I/Odimitri staessens2016-08-033-120/+272
| | | | | | | | | Blocking I/O now uses condition variables in the shared memory instead of busy waiting. Timeouts can be specified. This requires the size of the rbuffs and du_map to be the same, to guarantee that when the shm_du_map is not full, the ap_rbuffs can't be full either. Added the timeout option to the flow for future use.
* lib: dev: Add select-like calldimitri staessens2016-08-033-66/+125
| | | | | | | This adds a flow_select() call that will sleep until an SDU can be read on a flow. It returns the file descriptor for which an SDU is ready. It takes as optional argument a timespec struct to specify a timeout.

| * ipcpd: normal: Allow initiating enrollmentSander Vrijders2016-08-012-1/+5
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | This will add more functionality for enrolling two normal IPCPs with each other. Some bugs were fixed in CDAP. Now on enrolling, an IPCP will send a START message to the other IPCP. Next step is syncing the RIBs.

| * | ipcpd: normal: Provide initial steps for enrollmentSander Vrijders2016-07-271-23/+23
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This provides the normal IPCP with bootstrapping and the initial steps for enrollment. Next step is actually reacting to an enrollment request and sending the data transfer constants.
* | | lib: Portability to FreeBSDdimitri staessens2016-07-293-5/+5
| |/ |/| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Various portability fixes for FreeBSD. POSIX requires shm file names to start with a "/" to be portable. lseek(2) can be undefined on POSIX shm, replaced with ftruncate(2). IRMd check on existing lockfile more portable. FreeBSD 11.0 is preferred as it natively supports robust mutexes. Full working LLC implementation pending.
* | build: Fix wrong inclusionSander Vrijders2016-07-261-2/+0
|/ | | | | | The protobuf include directory was not being correctly handed to the compiler when building. Now the include directory is added project-wide. And the protobuf package is searched for only once.
* lib: Remove src_ap_name from ipcpd messagesdimitri staessens2016-07-121-8/+7
|
* lib: Remove N-1 DIF param from enroll operationSander Vrijders2016-07-122-21/+18
| | | | | | This removes the parameter N-1 DIF from the enroll operation. IPCPs should just allocate a flow to a DIF name and let the N-1 DIF resolve it.
* lib: shm_du_map: PCI allocation / deallocationdimitri staessens2016-07-111-34/+90
| | | | | | Correct implementation of allocation for the Protocol Control Information. Also removes stale code checking for a corner case when the du map still wrapped multi-block SDU's.
* ipcpd: Deprecate ipcp_reg/ipcp_unregdimitri staessens2016-07-082-73/+6

* ouroboros: Use ouroboros errno.hdimitri staessens2016-07-074-4/+4
| | | | | All includes of <errno.h> within ouroboros are replaced with the ouroboros errno.
* lib: Add lockfiledimitri staessens2016-07-074-14/+181
| | | | | | | | | | | | The pid of the IRMd is stored in a lockfile in shared memory. This makes checking if the IRMd is running independent of the configuration, as previously the IRMd pid was stored at the end of the shm_du_map, which could not be read by an IRMd that would be compiled with different configuration options. Also corrects some unnecessary includes Fixes #21.
* Merged in dstaesse/ouroboros/be-irmd-fix-create (pull request #164)Sander Vrijders2016-07-071-0/+6
|\ | | | | | | lib:irmd: Fix logs and irm_create
| * lib:irmd: Fix logs and irm_createdimitri staessens2016-07-061-0/+6
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | The irm_create() function called irmd_destroy before some key values were initialized. Logs cleanup was missing.
* | lib: shm_du_map: Fix cleaning stale DU mapdimitri staessens2016-07-061-1/+1
|/ | | | | Added check if the owner of the du map is actually running so a new IRMd instance can remove a stale DU map.
* lib: shm_du_map: Don't open rbuff when process exitsdimitri staessens2016-07-061-5/+5
| | | | | clean_sdus now has a boolean flag to let it know the process has exited.

| * lib, irmd, ipcpd: Provide the feature to write to logsSander Vrijders2016-07-063-0/+49
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Writing output to log files is now enabled by default. Logs are written to <INSTALL_PREFIX>/var/log/ouroboros, which is created on install. There is a log file for the irmd and one per IPCP. To still get (colored) output on stdout, provide the --stdout switch when starting the irmd. Fixes #17
* | lib: shm_du_map: Clean sdus upon exitdimitri staessens2016-07-063-5/+31
|/ | | | | | | | When an application closes the shm_du_map, it will clean all remaining sdu's for that application. Adds a function to clean the shm_du_map on close. Fixes #20.
* lib: Change invalid pid to -1dimitri staessens2016-07-056-17/+17
| | | | | | | | The stack used pid 0 (the scheduler) to indicate an invalid process instance, probably as a leftover from the deprecated application process instance id. Using -1 is a better solution. Fixes #16.

| * | lib: Provide first implementation of revised CDAPSander Vrijders2016-07-057-8/+464
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This commit introduces a first version of the revised CDAP specification. CACEP (for authentication purposes) has been separated from CDAP. Application developers may use CDAP if they find it useful. Within Ouroboros CDAP will be used to perform operations on the RIB of an IPCP.
* | | lib:irm: fix ap check when full path is given.dimitri staessens2016-07-051-1/+3
| |/ |/| | | | | | | The check_ap_path function didn't return correctly when the first check was successful.
* | lib: utils: deprecate strdupdimitri staessens2016-07-052-20/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | When introducing robust mutexes, ouroboros moved to POSIX 200809L which includes the strdup function in <string.h>. Including <ouroboros/config.h> will give access to strdup. Fixes #15.
* | lib: irm: search for ap using PATH variabledimitri staessens2016-07-041-6/+90
|/ | | | | | | | | The bind function will search all directories specified in the PATH variable for the ap fed to the irm bind command and check if it is executable by the uid executing irm bind command. Adds missing info logs for the bind/unbind and unreg operations in the irmd.
* tools, irm: move binary check to librarydimitri staessens2016-07-031-0/+8
| | | | | | | This will make the library check if the user has permissions to execute the binary when auto is set. This prevents writing malicious software that would use the irmd to execute other applications to which the user has no access.
* lib: shm_du_map full multi-block supportdimitri staessens2016-07-031-103/+79
| | | | | | | shm_du_map now fully supports multi-block SDU's when the SHM_DU_MAP_MULTI_BLOCK compilation flag is set (enabled by default). Fixes #11.
* lib: robust locking in shared memory and crash recoverydimitri staessens2016-07-023-90/+279
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | This PR enhances the shared memory providing recovery if a process crashes. It adds a SHM_DU_TIMEOUT_MICROS variable, setting an expiration time for SDU's when shared memory is full. If an application doesn't read a blocking SDU within this time, the shared memory will be cleansed of all SDU's for this application and the application's rbuff will be cleared. Some refactoring of the API's. Fixed wrong pthread checks in IRMd. Fixes #13 Fixes #14
* lib, ipcpd: removed du_buff and pcidimitri staessens2016-06-294-452/+0
| | | | Fixes #3
* lib, irmd, ipcpd: Change pid to apiSander Vrijders2016-06-288-83/+82
| | | | Changes the variable name as well to API instead of PID.
* lib, irmd, ipcpd: Change of IRM APISander Vrijders2016-06-286-354/+169
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | This changes the IRM API after discussions with Dimitri. The register operation is now split into a bind and register operation. The same for unregister; unbind and unregister. PIDs are now used as the application instance name. A name for a PID is only provided for scriptability in bash. It is therefore also no longer passed down to the IPCP. Every operation on an IPCP through the IRM API has to use the PID. Quering of the PIDs by name is possible. The IRM tool has been updated to use this new API as well. A subcommand 'ipcp' has been added for operations that take effect on IPCPs only. Fixes #12
* build: correct sandboxingdimitri staessens2016-06-271-1/+1
| | | | | paths cannot start with "/" or PREFIX will be omitted. PREFIX must be set before the project() call.
* build: Fix installation prefixSander Vrijders2016-06-272-4/+4
| | | | | | The installation prefix was taking a trailing backslash, while it is common not to do so. Fixed it so that any trailing backslash is removed by the compilation and installation scripts.
* lib: Change DA header to NSMSander Vrijders2016-06-224-17/+25
| | | | | | Functionality that was previously thought to be part of the DIF Allocator is actually namespace management. Hence the file has been renamed and the API updated.
* lib: Remove implementation specific errnosSander Vrijders2016-06-222-16/+16
| | | | | This removes any implementation specific error numbers. Only errors that are implementation independent should be returned.
* lib: Add errnos specific for OuroborosSander Vrijders2016-06-223-36/+69
| | | | | | | This adds error numbers specificly for Ouroboros. It also refactors some of the header files that are installed. Fixes #2
* lib, irmd, ipcp: robust mutexesdimitri staessens2016-06-214-206/+95
| | | | | | | | Update to POSIX 200112L to allow use of robust mutexes in the shm_du_map. Removed the implementation of the rw_lock in favor of pthread_rwlock_t. Placeholder for the shm_du_map_sanitize function.
* lib, irmd: Change sockets and shm pathSander Vrijders2016-06-201-1/+1
| | | | | | Reverting from previous commit. Even when running Ouroboros sandboxed, the sockets and shared memory should be created in the default system paths.
* build: Change install directories and set correct permissionsSander Vrijders2016-06-205-7/+26
| | | | | | | | | This sets the correct install directories for all the binaries, library and header files. It also sets the right permissions on the sockets and shared memory so that regular users can also use the ouroboros library. Root privileges are required to run the irmd. Fixes #7
* irmd, lib: use shm_du_map as lockfile.dimitri staessens2016-06-171-9/+15
| | | | | | | | | | | | Added the pid of the irmd to the shm_du_map. The IRMd will check for an existing shm_du_map. If there is an existing file, it will exit if the owner IRMd is running or remove it if the owner IRMd is not running. Also simplifies calculation of the shm_du_map pointers and corrects exiting calls for the IRMd. Fixes #8.
